Subject Options
Junior cycle
Option choice forms and option subject information booklet are included in the documentation sent to parents of incoming first years in the January prior to the September start. There are 10 option subjects available at Junior Certificate level and each student is asked to select 6 subjects in order of their choice from which 4 will be allocated.
The option subjects are:
Art, Business Studies, French, Home Economics, Materials Technology Wood, Metalwork, Music, Science and Technical Graphics.
The Principal and Deputy are available to Parents for advice in option subject selection.
Senior Cycle
In November of Third Year, an information night is held for parents and students in the college. The meeting is addressed by TY coordinator, Guidance Counsellor, Senior Transitions Administrator and Principal outlining the post-Junior Cert. alternative programmes.
The Differential Aptitude Tests are taken by all third year students and individual appointments are made with the Guidance Counsellor to discuss the results of these tests.
A booklet describing in detail the content and career links of Leaving Cert. option subjects is made available to all parents and third year students.
