(Sports Clubs in Skerries support the work of the College in many of the above sports)
Arts:
- Musical: Produced by staff. 18 Musicals staged in the college since 1981.
- Skerries Musical Sound: Variety Concerts staged in the College Participation in Co. Dublin VEC
- Festival of Music staged in National Concert Hall.
- Participation in “Soundwaves”. A Skerries Music Competition.
- Dance workshops provided in the College by International Artist.(Past Pupil of College)
- Participation in Skerries St. Patrick’s Day Parade.
- Traditional Irish Group
- “Peter’s Passion”: A musical version of the Passion of Christ Produced by the Chaplain and staged in Skerries parish Church each Holy Week.
- Debating and Public Speaking: Intra and Inter competitions. Participation in “Mental Health” debates.
- Participation in Coca Cola Form and Fushion Fashion Design Competition.
- “Art in the College” with Resident Artist supported by Fingal County Council.
- Drama Group which stages a short play, regularly in the College.
Social Justice:
- Meals on Wheels: Transition Year students help with the delivery of hot meals to the Elderly in Skerries.
- Collection for Trocaire campaign held annually in Lent.
- €5000 donated by staff and students in one day for the Tsunami Disaster Fund. This money went towards the provision of a fishing boat for local fishermen. The boat was called “Signum Fedei”
- Forty large hampers are provided each Christmas by students and donated to St. Vincent de Paul in Skerries.
- Music students entertain Senior Citizens in Skerries Day Care Centre during the week before Christmas.
- Sixth Year students host a Christmas Party for children and adults from St. Michael’s House.
- Days of Reflection / Retreats held for classes during the year.
- Students involved in various Charity Collections in Skerries: Daffodil Day, Aware, Santa Bear etc.
- Young Social Innovators (YSI) Project based on facilities for the Elderly in Skerries.
- Ballygall Project: The Sixth Year RE programme, which explores such issues as Addictions, Cults, AIDS, Mental Health ,Minority Groups etc. This programme is supported by outside Guest Speakers every week.
- Staff and Students have travelled to Peru(2003), Poland (2004), Kenya (2005) and Mexico (2006) to help build and improve facilities at selected charitable organisations.
Tours and Trips:
- Annual European Tour.
- Trip to Stratford-on-Avon French Exchange with Guichen a town in Normandy twinned with Skerries.
- Prefect Training / Transition Year weekends in Carlingford Adventure Centre and Glencree Leadership Centre.
- Visit to Mountjoy Prison and Women’s prison. German and French Film Trips . Temple Bar Mapping project.
- Ferrigcarrig History trip.
- Visit to Stock Exchange and Bank of Ireland centre.
- Prefect Trip to Panto.
- History trips to Croke Park Museum.
- Higher Options Exhibition / FAS Opportunities Exhibition Participation in and visit to Young Scientist Exhibition.
- Training Day with Rosemary Smith Driving School Maths and Chemistry Olympiad.
